Estuary Path Improvements

Lancashire County Council have notified us of work due to begin soon on the multi-use estuary path. This is the first stage in a programme of improvements to the Luneside Trail, and is provisionally due to start on 24 January 2022. The work is expected to take 2 weeks to complete and the path will remain open for the duration, managed by the contractors.

This first phase of works will involve the path between Conder Green car park and Aldcliffe Hall Lane being scraped back to its full width and any vegetation, shrubs & overhanging branches encroaching on the line of the path being cut back.

Further Stages

We understand that, once this first phase is complete, an assessment will be made of any necessary surfacing works. At the moment, we don’t have a timescale for completion of the full project, but please be aware that any surfacing works required will mean the path being temporarily closed to users.
