Aldcliffe with Stodday Parish Council

Stodday Picnic Site Official Opening

We are holding a small ceremony to mark the opening of the Stodday Picnic Area on the Lune Estuary Path.  You would be most welcome to come along on Monday, 4th September.  We have invited Sarah Kemp, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Engagement at Lancaster University to formally open the Area at 10.30am.  It was the University’s ‘Wind Turbine Community Benefit Fund’ that initially agreed to provide funding and that was then matched by the County Council.  The Parish also put in some money to complete the project as we’d planned.

The Parish Council decided that refurbishing the Picnic Area was a good project to undertake once the Snuff Mill path had been improved.  We hope you’ve already been enjoying the new furniture and improved surface at the Picnic Area and will continue to do so.  We will be taking a drink and snacks for ourselves and Sarah Kemp but do please bring along your own food and drink if you wish… or even a picnic!
