After a long period of persistent asking, and with the welcome assistance of County Councillor Gina Dowding, the long-standing issue of flooding on the bottom corner of Lunecliffe Road has been recently attended to by Lancashire County Council’s Highways service. The problematic section of the road has been excavated and drained via new pipework into the brook. The illustrated dropped curb and trench also now drains away standing water (image below).
We are also pleased to report that County Highways have scheduled this heavily potholed stretch of road to be resurfaced in the coming year.
