Dangerous Archery

An Aldcliffe resident has reported finding a full-sized archery arrow (not a toy) embedded in their lawn on Saturday, 8th July. The Shaft of the arrow is trademarked ‘STAR 35’. From the angle and interpreted trajectory the arrow appeared to have been loosed from a location on Oaklands Court, perhaps in-line with the junction to Home Farm.

This was a dangerous act with potentially serious consequences, as the person who dispatched the arrow could not have seen where it would land. Despite the seriousness of the incident, the resident does not wish to involve the police at this stage.

The Parish Council sincerely hopes that the individual(s) responsible has realised the dangers of their actions and that this has been an isolated incident. Parishioners are asked to be vigilant and to get in touch if they become aware of any similar activity.
