Aldcliffe residents will be delighted to know that work is to start on Friday 26th May to replace the damaged telephone cable running in the verge alongside Aldcliffe Hall Drive. These works should be completed within 10 working days.
Some earlier sticking points have now been overcome and Aldcliffe Estates, who retain ownership of the driveway, have kindly agreed to allow a trench to be dug in the tarmac to allow Battersby Construction and Groundworks Ltd to lay a duct from a point opposite ‘Ashlar House’ to the inspection pit in the driveway of ‘Rydal Mount’.
Once the groundworks are complete, Openreach will then insert the new cables and re-connect us all for a better, faster, clearer service. More on the timing of this later.
